The approximately 16'700 m² Steinhof area is located southwest of the city centre on the railway line Burgdorf-Konolfingen-Thun. The surrounding area is dominated by residential areas, to the southeast of Zähringerstrasse there is the historical ensemble of Villa Schnell with courtyard and garden house as well as the spacious park. On the other hand, the restaurant "Steinhof" with its remise forms another historical ensemble.
